Who is Ponds & Beyond?

Ponds and Beyond was founded by Jim Barry in 1992. As a young child Jim played in a neighbor's water garden, and at five years old he built his own backyard pond.

After losing his parents at a young age, Jim found relief in streambeds, bogs and ponds — and, through God's grace, found his life's passion. Psalm 23:2 resonated with him: “He leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.”

Decades later, Ponds and Beyond and its associates manage hundreds of ponds, bogs and wetlands for public and private institutions, golf courses, parks and private owners in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Vermont.

Jim's background spans environmental sciences, aquaculture and biotechnology, with wetland delineation training concentrated in biologicals — which is why every treatment plan focuses on treating water naturally.
