Lake and Pond Management

Full-season programs tailored to your body of water — so you can enjoy it, not work on it.

Pond management programs

Tailored to Your Body of Water

Every pond, lake and wetland is different, and so is the care it needs. Our full-season management programs are designed around your water's size, depth, uses and goals — whether that is clear water for swimming, great fishing, or simply a beautiful, healthy pond you don't have to think about.

It starts with a free on-site consultation. An experienced specialist walks your property, assesses the water, and recommends the right mix of water quality testing, algae and aquatic weed control, aeration and seasonal upkeep. From there, we handle the schedule — you enjoy the water.

Since 1992, we have cared for ponds and lakes for homeowners, golf courses, parks, campgrounds, businesses and municipalities across New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Vermont.

What We Do

Our services cover everything your water needs through the year. Explore each area below, or jump straight to the consultation form and tell us what you're seeing.

Water Quality & Care

The foundation of every healthy pond — testing, treatment and year-round care.

  • Annual Management Programs

Healthy water isn't a one-time job. Our year-round plans keep ponds, lakes and wetlands balanced and beautiful every season.

  • Water Quality Testing

We sample and analyze your water to understand exactly what it needs, then build a natural treatment plan to restore it.

  • Algae & Aquatic Weed Control

Safe, targeted treatments that clear algae and invasive weeds while protecting fish, pets and people.

  • Lake & Pond Management

Programs for golf courses, parks, institutions and private owners across the Northeast.

  • Stormwater Pond Management

Keep retention and detention ponds compliant, functional and attractive year-round.

Aeration & Fountains

Moving water is living water — oxygen, circulation and beauty in one.

  • Fountains & Aeration

Decorative and aerating fountains that circulate water, discourage algae and make a stunning focal point.

  • Solar Aeration

Off-grid, sun-powered aeration that adds oxygen, reduces muck and supports fish — no power lines required.

Shoreline & Habitat

Protecting the edges and the wild places that keep your water healthy.

  • Shoreline Restoration

Natural buffers of native plants and bioengineering that stop erosion and filter runoff before it reaches the water.

  • Erosion Control

Shoreline stabilization that protects your banks, wetlands and water clarity.

  • Wetland Services

Wetland delineation, plantings and care that protect these valuable natural habitats.

  • Dredging & Sediment Removal

Restore depth and volume to aging ponds and lakes with careful sediment removal.

  • GPS Lake Mapping & Bathymetry

Depth mapping and bottom surveys that reveal sediment buildup and guide smart, cost-effective care.

Design, Fish & Specialty

From dream ponds to trophy fish — the projects that make water magical.

  • Pond Design & Construction

Custom ponds and water gardens designed and built to fit your land and your vision.

  • Natural Swimming Pools

Chemical-free swimming ponds kept clean by plants and natural filtration.

  • Water Gardens & Ornamental Ponds

Koi ponds, waterfalls and backyard water gardens built, cleaned and cared for each season.

  • Fisheries Management

Stocking, habitat and population planning that grow healthier, bigger fish and better fishing.

  • Fish Stocking

Healthy, locally suited fish delivered and stocked to balance your pond and improve fishing.

What Makes Ponds & Beyond Different

Programs built around your water

Programs built around your water

No two ponds behave the same. We look at your water's size, depth, uses and history, then design a seasonal program around it — not a one-size-fits-all checklist.

We treat the cause, not just the symptoms

We treat the cause, not just the symptoms

Green water and weeds are symptoms. Water testing and circulation work point us to the underlying condition, so treatments solve the problem instead of chasing it all season.

We track progress and adjust the plan

We track progress and adjust the plan

Conditions change through the season, and so does the plan. We monitor your water, record what we find, and fine-tune treatments as your pond responds.

Lake and Pond Management FAQ

Why is my pond green?

Green water almost always comes from an algae bloom, fed by sunlight and excess nutrients in the water. A water test shows what is feeding the bloom so treatments fix the source instead of just the color.

How often will you visit my pond?

It depends on the program we build together. Most full-season programs include scheduled visits from spring through fall, with extra attention during the warm months when algae and weeds grow fastest.

Are the treatments safe for fish, pets and wildlife?

Yes, when applied correctly. We use EPA-registered products at the right rates for your water, applied by trained aquatic specialists, and we tell you any waiting periods before swimming, irrigation or livestock use.

Is my pond safe for swimming?

The only way to know is to test the water. We run a water quality analysis and, if anything needs attention, we build a treatment plan so your pond is ready for recreational use.

Can anything be done about the muck on the bottom?

Yes. Aeration and beneficial bacteria slowly break down organic muck, and for severely filled-in ponds, dredging or sediment removal restores depth and volume.

Should we stock fish in our pond?

Fish can be a great addition, but the pond has to support them. We check depth, temperature, habitat and the fish already present before recommending species, sizes and stocking rates.

What does a management program cost?

Every program is priced to the water — its size, how it is used and what it needs. The on-site consultation is free, and you receive a written plan with clear pricing before anything begins.
